When you’re looking for a way to show your employees that they do good work and you appreciate them, sometimes money gets in the way. Your company isn’t quite making the profits you’d like to see, but your employees work double time just to ensure it gets off the ground eventually. That kind of hard work deserves a reward, and usually a raise is the best prize. However, sometimes a raise just isn’t possible. It can be possible in the future, but for now, you want something that will make your employee aware of how glad you are that they work for you. Here are a couple of ideas.

Free Training

You might not think that training is a good reward, but it absolutely is. Many small businesses don’t have the same resources that large businesses do, so when they need to know something new, they have to resort to the internet or literature on the subject. Both of those places have loads of valuable information, but they’re not the same as getting a training session in the specific area of need. So the next time an employee exceeds their goals, consider letting them choose a conference of their choice to attend.

Personalized Gift Baskets

Gift baskets won’t cost you more than a couple hundred dollars, and they’re amazing since they’re fully customizable and can be adjusted according to budget and employee preference. If your employee is a movie goer that loves Skittles, include some movie tickets and several different flavors of Skittles in their basket. If your employee is a mom, make them a stress-relief basket that includes spa passes for relaxing moments away from the kids. Get creative. The more creative the basket, the more thoughtful the employee will think it is.
