zzzzz1030717_people_1During the holidays, email marketing is incredibly effective. People are constantly keeping their eyes open for gifts and trinkets for their friends and family, and when they have something hand delivered to their inbox, it’s hard to resist when you finally see the right gift (and it ships free).  Check out the following three techniques to see if they can bring in more business this season.

Plan Your Campaigns Ahead of Time

Patience will benefit you greatly during the holiday season. If you’re strapped for cash or need some customers, you shouldn’t let this affect your marketing campaign. Marketing simply isn’t advertising, so there’s no game-winning touchdown that will save your company. So, instead of scrambling at the last second to save your company (which won’t happen), carefully coordinate your efforts with what else is going on in your company. That takes a lot of foresight, but investing in a single, well thought-out plan will benefit you more in the long run.

Do a Series of Emails, Not Just a One-Off

A lot of people just think that Black Friday emails are a one-off and they won’t have the chance to make that kind of money until next year. That’s simply not true. You can spend time ramping up to Black Friday, and you can spend days leading into it. So instead of just sending one email on the day of the event, send several sneak peeks and teases.

Engage Often

Are you trying to figure out how to make a stranger a loyal customer? The key to that is engagement. When you want to create customer loyalty, social media and email marketing are two of the best places to get started. You want to always be on your customer’s minds, because the more they think about you, the more familiar they are with you.
