Happiness seems to attract business. Most of the time this is true because potential clients who see happy, optimistic leaders also see a business that isn’t going to fail tomorrow due to lack of willpower. People like to invest their time and money into those kinds of companies. Here are a couple of ways to always remain upbeat.
Be a Ray of Sunshine No Matter What
Let your upbeat, shiny personality show. People will tend to come towards those who are positive and upbeat, can solve issues with flexibility, and have a good outlook on life. If you find yourself whining about something that's hard, give yourself ten seconds. Then move on. Don't ever make excuses or complain about what's going on in your life or in your business, especially in front of customers. There is almost always a way to view a situation as good rather than bad, and you need to make sure you develop that skill to always ensure your customers feel good about your business.
Be Positive and be Prepared
Do ALL of your prep work ahead of time, whether it's for a business meeting or a meeting at lunch with a client. Walking into any meeting unprepared is a fatal mistake that can lose you business and leave you disorganized and discombobulated. If you're preparing for a sales call, make sure you have all of the answers to the frequently asked questions prepared and ready right in front of you. If you've never met with this particular client before, make sure you know tons about their company so you have a good starting point for your conversation with them. If you're going to a business meeting that you went to last week, make sure all of the things you need in order to show proof that you're doing your job are ready to pass out. If it's appropriate, come to the meeting with your questions all arranged or an agenda in your hand.
